Xandros is categorized as a commercial distribution system, but will allow you to run several applications like Photoshop, Windows applications and Microsoft Office.

Another good Linux distribution system is Puppy Linux Live CD. This can be run on old or slow computers that only have 64MB of RAM. The CD will boot from the CD, a USB drive or a zip drive. AntiX and Xubuntu can also rely on other resources and operate well on older computer models. AntiX can operate on Pentium II specifications. Other good systems include Damn Small Linux and Zenwalk.

At work, you will best operate using Red Hat or Novell Linux. Red Hat is focused more on the server market, compared to the desktop. Xandros is also ideal. Ubuntu can operate on servers and Red Hat is excellent because it keeps your activities and files safe and protected.

Netbook users will like a number of Linux distribution systems like Jolicloud, Ubuntu Netbook and Moblin. Using the operating system of your Netbook you can install Ubuntu conveniently. Simply follow the instructions onscreen.

Advanced users generally prefer Arch Linux and Slackware. The Linux distribution system can be installed from nothing. It does not have a GUI and is recommended for experienced users only. Slackware is very fast and one of the first distros available.
